Milestones
1919
Sophia Founded
Sophia founded as a primary school at the present Saint Francis Hospital on June 29. The Founders: Rt. Rev. Mgr: Henri Coumont, first Bishop of Ajmer and Rev. Mother Matilda.
1921
A boarding house gets started with one resident pupil.
1925
The first group of candidates appears for the Junior Cambridge Examination.
1926
Sophia is awarded recognition as a “Special public school for Indians”
1930
Two candidates appear for the senior Cambridge examination
1932
A modest start is made in women’s higher education with the introduction of private intermediate College.
1934
Sophia moves to Mirshali,the present Venue.
1942
1950
Rev.Mother M.Matilda, the founder and the Principal of Sophia is taken to her heavenly award. Sister Catherine is appointed as the principal. Science subject are introduced in the intermediate classes. 1954 Separate Primary Block constructed in the same campus.
1958
The School switches over to the Higher Secondary Curriculum and is known as the Sophia Multipurpose High School
1959
The intermediate college is upgraded to the degree status with Sister Jovita as Principal. The 3 year degree is initiated with one student on roll and 12 for the B.A. conventional scheme
1961
1962
The college moves to its present campus. Science subject are introduced at the degree level.
1969
The higher Secondary Section is provided with new extension block i.e Golden Jubilee Block (GJB) to accommodate the increasing number on rolls Dec 6 and 7, 1969 : Sophia celebrates the Golden Jubilee of its foundation.
1977
1989
Raised to Senior Secondary level.
1990
Inauguration of Our Lady of good counsel school block i.e Diamond Jubilee Block (DJB)

2007
E-learning (smart classes) introduced for senior classes.
2019
Sophia completed 100 scintillating years of its existence . A grand function was organised on 19th October 2019 . Inauguration of the Centenary Block. The middle section (Classes 6 to 8) has been shifted to this block.
2021
On 26th January a new computer laboratory, in the Diamond Jubilee Block, inaugurated by Mrs. Gopa Ahaluwalia, batch 1978 , an alumna of our institution.
2022
With the growing contemporary need of various career options, new subjects – Entrepreneurship and Psychology were offered for classes 11 & 12.
For Classes 9 & 10 Information Technology was introduced as a sixth subject for the betterment of results.
2023
To cater to the Athletics needs of the students, a Gym was introduced. Also, Softball and Athletic were introduces as new sport options.
