PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Dear Well-Wishers

“Intelligence plus character – is the goal of true education.”

Martin Luther King Jr.

Welcome to the academic year 2023-24, a year of hope, of aspirations, of challenges, of risks, of endurance and of changes. We hope to achieve this through Our Vision and Mission Before I proceed, I would like to spell out the Vision and Mission of our schools under the banner of SOPHIA.

OUR VISION
To be signs and bearers of the Good News
To the people of all faiths,
Especially women and girl children.

OUR MISSION
To respond to the Gospel Values,
To live out a preferential love for the poor
To continually discern the needs of our times.

To make our schools places where the Glory of God is manifested.

The vision and the mission of our School are co-related. But linking the vision to the mission is yet to be completed. Therefore the education imparted at Sophia, circles round the girl child, with special emphasis on the requirements of the needy and underprivileged in society.

The values of Good News are values of mind and heart that pertains to bring about a good relationship with all creatures- human beings, animals and nature on the whole. Our Mother Earth, is our urgent concern and to preserve Mother Earth, we are all called to inculcate values of heart and mind, bringing peace, love and joy in our surroundings and certainly School is the best laboratory for experiment and experience. In bringing good deeds to our world, we need to have within us the Gospel values that would enable us to live and let others live in freedom and concord. The entire world revolves round the Creator of the
Universe- who is God of all the living.

The thought that penetrates in our minds is, “Am I a life sharer or a life snatcher?” It’s here at Sophia, we train our students, excelling academically at the same time merging life skills with skill development. Special attention is given to students who find it difficult to cope up or get in line with the flow of others.

The School Counsellor taps all possibilities to get the best out of each child and aids in helping to pick the right career. The Health Assistant is all alert in reaching out to the physical needs of the kids when sick.

The Alumni Association is all alive and active in bridging the bonds with their Alma Mater. This bond makes it possible for the Alumni to come back to their ‘nest’ and enliven their long past memories.

It is rightly said by Albert Einstein-
“Wisdom is not a product of schooling but of the lifelong attempt to acquire it” and we at
Sophia are making a constant effort to acquire it.
