Annual Training Camp

Twenty-five cadets from Sophia Senior Secondary School, Ajmer, attended the Annual Training Camp (ATC) from 5 th August to 14 th August 2024. The camp offered a mix of physical training, theoretical education, and diverse activities aimed at building discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills. The cadets arrived at the camp filled with excitement and eagerness to learn, spending the first day organizing their luggage and settling into the camp environment. The following day began with a yoga session, followed by theory classes on the principles of unity and discipline, along with an overview of the camp’s curriculum.

Throughout the camp, cadets received training in CPR, learned about the major parts of a rifle, and participated in various competitions, including a tug-of-war, where Sophia School secured first place. They also underwent drill sessions focusing on parade techniques and practiced yoga and Pranayama regularly.

In addition to physical training, the camp provided practical sessions on fire- fighting techniques, road safety rules, and life-saving methods demonstrated by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) during natural disasters. Cadets were taught how to make a stretcher, extinguish LPG gas fires, handle snakes, and operate a gun. They also attended a session on communication skills.

One of the camp’s highlights was a cultural program where Sophia School cadets excelled by securing second place in the group dance, third place in solo dance (with Prakshi Hemnani winning a silver medal), and second in the group song competition. Himanshi Shevkani, a cadet from the school, won a gold medal in the best physical training, and both Himanshi Shevkani and Rashi Jain were promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

As the camp concluded, the cadets packed their belongings and prepared to return home, leaving with valuable experiences, newly acquired skills, and lasting memories. The camp was a tremendous success, reflecting the dedication and hard work of both the cadets and their instructor, as evidenced by the achievements and accolades they earned.
