Sophia Sr. Sec. School, Ajmer, celebrated the 79th Independence Day of our nation with great pride and patriotism on 15th August 2025. The event was graced by two eminent alumnae of the institution — Dr. Priyanka Mathur as the Chief Guest and Dr. Nandini Gupta as the Guest of Honour.
Dr. Priyanka Mathur, an alumna of the Batch of 1997, brings with her nearly two decades of distinguished teaching experience in the field of Computer Science. Currently serving in the Department of Computer Applications at Manipal University Jaipur, she is celebrated for her expertise in integrating theoretical concepts with practical applications. A dedicated teacher, mentor and academic leader, Dr. Mathur has published extensively in reputed peer-reviewed journals, actively contributed to professional associations, and advised both industrial and governmental bodies. Holding a Ph.D. in Computer Science & IT, she stands as an inspiring example of commitment and excellence.
Dr. Nandini Gupta, an alumna of the Class of 2017, excelled in the Biology stream with 92% marks and showcased her multifaceted talents through active participation in dance, music, science club activities, sports and cultural fests. After qualifying NEET UG in 2017, she pursued BDS from Pacific Dental College, Udaipur. Her achievements include securing State Rank 20 in NEET MDS 2024 and State Rank 50 in the RPSC examination. Presently serving as Medical Officer at ESI Hospital No.1, Kala Bagh, Ajmer. Dr. Gupta is committed to oral health, preventive care and promoting dental awareness in both rural and urban communities.
Both dignitaries, proud daughters of Sophia, jointly hoisted the National Flag, filling the school grounds with patriotic fervour. Students presented cultural performances, speeches and patriotic songs, celebrating the spirit of freedom and unity. The presence and words of the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour inspired students to aim high and serve the society with dedication.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks, leaving the audience with a renewed sense of pride and responsibility towards the nation.
