Celebration of Birsa Munda Jayanti & Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas at CBSE School

To honour the legacy of the great tribal freedom fighter Bhagwan Birsa Munda, our school celebrated Birsa Munda Jayanti and Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas  from 1st November -15th November with great pride and enthusiasm. The event highlighted the rich cultural heritage of India’s tribal communities and reminded students of the invaluable contributions made by Birsa Munda in India’s freedom struggle.

A Special Assembly was conducted on 1st November  in our school in which students offered floral tributes to Birsa Munda, followed by a brief introduction about his life, his role in the Ulgulan Movement, and his unwavering fight against and colonial oppression. Teachers addressed the students, encouraging them to draw inspiration from his courage, leadership, and dedication towards protecting the rights and dignity of tribal communities.

To showcase tribal culture, students participated in Hindi Easy Writing competition held on 7th November and Gond Art on 10th November depicting episodes from Birsa Munda’s life.

On 15th November , the Principal appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers. She emphasised the importance of recognising and respecting the contributions of tribal communities, and encouraged students to celebrate Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas not just as an event, but as a reminder of India’s cultural diversity and inclusive spirit.

The celebration concluded with a pledge to promote unity, equality, and respect for all communities. The day served as an inspiring opportunity for students to learn, reflect, and take pride in the heroic legacy of Birsa Munda.
