A Cyber Crime Awareness Seminar was organised at Sophia School on 25th September 2026, with the objective of educating students about the growing concerns surrounding cybercrime and the importance of safe and responsible internet usage. The seminar was conducted by Advocate Nitish Dadich and Mr. Deepak Moolchandani, who shared their valuable knowledge and insights to help students understand the risks associated with the digital world.
During the session, the speakers familiarised students with various forms of cybercrime, including online fraud, identity theft, cyberbullying, phishing, hacking, misuse of personal information, and online harassment. They explained how cybercriminals exploit the internet and social media platforms to deceive unsuspecting users and emphasised the need to remain vigilant while navigating the online world.
The speakers also highlighted the importance of safeguarding personal information, using strong passwords, avoiding suspicious links, and exercising caution while interacting with strangers online. Students were encouraged to think critically before sharing photographs, personal details, or sensitive information on social media and other digital platforms. The session further stressed the importance of reporting cybercrime incidents to the appropriate authorities rather than remaining silent out of fear or embarrassment.
Through practical examples and valuable guidance, the seminar helped students recognise potential online threats and understand their responsibilities as digital citizens. It reinforced the message that awareness, alertness, and responsible online behaviour are essential in protecting oneself and others from cyber threats.
